The Cowton Family and Cowton Lane
The Cowton family have historic links in the Reighton,
Hunmanby and Bridlington areas (and elsewhere). We do not
know of any links between the family and Cowton Lane in Reighton.
It is reasonable to assume that Cowton Lane was named after the
family Cowton. Up until the 1960's it was described as "Cowton
Lane - formerly Rotton/Rotten Row".
