Introduction

Our self catering holiday cottage was built in stages between 1840 and the 1970's. The Cottage is rated as 4 Stars by visitBritain. We have tried to provide as much helpful information as possible in this statement. If you have any queries please call us. We look forward to welcoming you.

Arrival and car Parking

There is ample car parking space in front of the cottage main door for up to 2 cars (the cottage is located on a quiet cul-de-sca). Extra on-street parking is 30 meters away.

The entrance at the front has a small 8cm high threshold step. The door is 72cm wide (there are no hand rails in the entrance).

Cottage General Layout

The front door leads directly into the lounge. At the far end of the lounge a doorway leads to the the dining kitchen (the Bathroom is on the ground floor accessed from the dining kitchen). An open-plan wooden staircase leads from the lounge to the first floor with 2 bedrooms (Double 3.2m x 4.1m and Twin 3.5mx 3.7m).

Lounge

The lounge is a spacious 5.0m x 4.0m. An exit door to the kitchen diner is 62cm wide followed by a 12cm step down into the dining area.

Kitchen/Diner

The dining area is 3.1m x 3.7m with a ceramic tile floor. This leads directly into the kitchen area of 2.3m x 2.3m via 5cm step-down. From the kitchen the back door is 68cm wide with a 12cm step into the patio area.

Bathroom

The bathroom is access from the dining area via a 70cm wide doorway. A small 5cm step upwards is located just beyond the door. The room is 1/2m x 4.6m containing a hand wash basin 78cm high, a toilet (WC) 42cm high and a corner bath with shower over 58cm high. There are no hand rails in the bathroom.

Staircase

An open tread wooden staircase (with handrail) leads from the lounge to the upstairs landing. Ther are 11 treads from the ground to the first floor, each 20cm high.

Upstairs landing

The narrowest point on the landing is 55cm wide

Double Bedroom

Accessed from the landing via a 70cm doorway. The double bed is 50cm high.

Twin Bedroom

Accessed from the landing via a 73cm doorway with a 5cm step down. The twin beds are 50cm high.

Laundry

There is an easy to use Bosch automatic washing machine in the kitchen (without tumble dryer). Clothes may be dried either in the back garden on a line or indoors on a clothes horse. A small quantity of washing powder/liquid is provided.

Leisure facilities in the village

A small childrens play park is located 120m from the village

The nearest Pub is the Dotterel (1/2m) which serves food.

Outdoor facilities at the Cottage

There is a small back yard and garden with a patio table and 4 chairs (all made of metal and/or wood)

Shops

1. The Caravan Equipment shop sells sweets, drinks, magazines, newspapers and batteries. It is located 350m from the cottage and is open 7 days a week from 9.30am to 6.00pm

2. A mini-supermarket at Reighton Sands Holiday Park (1.2miles from the Cottage) sells a wide range of groceries, bakery, gifts and fishing bait. Opening times are 8.00am - 6.0pm (Tues, Wed, Thurs & Sun), 8.00am to 8.00pm (Fri, Sat & Mon)

3. Hummanby Village (3 miles away) has a wide range of shops including a Co-op mini-supermarket, Pharmacy (Chemist), Fruit and Vegetables, Bakery and Hardware.

4. Filey Town (4 miles) has all the expected small town shops.

5. Bridlington (8 miles) has a 24 hour Tesco Supermarket.
